Refrain from Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month

This tenant is unique and important. Every Sunday at your typical parish virtually everyone comes forward for Communion. Even for those who know they shouldn’t, there doesn't seem to be another option, and so they are seemingly forced to either divulge their conscience or to commit sacrilege. But what if as they looked around they saw 40 other men remaining in their pews? Now they have options. You can still receive grace from a spiritual communion, and prevent another from eating and drinking to their “own condemnation”. Furthermore, now you have options too. Tell your family, so they never have to wonder why you are staying in your pew. Do it for all the times you went to Communion even though you shouldn't have. Do it for all those who need the confidence to stay in their pew. Consider it “cover fire” for your brothers.
